Unanswered Prayers
One of my favorite singer/song writers is Garth Brooks. He has a line in his song "Unanswered Prayers" that resonates with me and is the focal point of this writing. The line goes like this, "I want to thank God, for unanswered prayers. Just remember when you're talking to the man upstairs. Just because he doesn't answer, it doesn't mean he doesn't care. Some of Gods' greatest gifts are unanswered prayers."
I was listening to the words of this song and pondering on my own, "unanswered prayers". If every time in my life I got exactly as I had wished for, my life would have taken a very different direction. Isn't it amazing how in a single moment some event or some person is all you can focus on and must have, but then that moment passes and it becomes insignificant and the next moment becomes more important than the last. How are we to know what our destiny path on this earth plane is, if we cannot prioritize our prayers?
Each person is put on this earth plane to fulfill a destiny. Every child is told this from their parents or guardians, and when we do not follow the path the adults set out for us we are told we will never amount to much, so we wish and dream in the privacy of our mind for the outcomes that resonate within our souls. We pray or send affirmations of guidance or assistance from the universe to bring the results we long for and believe are ours to fulfill, and when those prayers do not follow the pattern or picture we have in our mind we believe they have been unanswered or cast aside.
What we need to be aware of is the course our lives take after the prayer or wish has been sent into the universe. It may not be the exact outcome we had pictured in our limited mind, but a much grander vision that we had not even considered when we began our wish or prayer.
Many people are ignorant of their true destinies and are striving and wishing for things and situations which are not theirs to fulfill. This misdirection's bring more burden and dissatisfaction upon the receiver, who then sends out another prayer or wish to the universe to improve the moment or situation.
Each of us has brought an unwanted wish into our lives through idle words spoken in prayer. Because of our limited belief system we have limited our wishes and dreams to what we see, hear and touch, instead of to the universe of infinite possibility. Let us open our minds and our hearts to infinite possibility and follow the guidance which is our alone found within.
